May The Fourth Be With You!
Star Wars Day is May the Fourth due to the similar sounding phrase from the movies, “May the Force be with you.” Undoubtably you’ve seen various May the Fourth posts on social media today from your nerdy friends or from various retailers trying to take advantage of this by offering sales (I know I’ll be purchasing some new Star Wars items).
Disney is finally taking full advantage of this built in, already fan loved, promotion for Star Wars. After over five years of purchasing Star Wars, they have finally jumped all in on the May the Fourth bandwagon with promotions and even releasing their latest Star Wars show (The Bad Batch) on Disney+ on May 4th.
So celebrate Star Wars Day by watching your favorite Star Wars movie, or reading your favorite novel or comic! Send a text to your friends, wishing them a “Happy Star Wars Day! May the Fourth be with you!” with a Star Wars meme or gif. As a long time Star Wars fan, I’ve enjoyed this opportunity to just have fun with Star Wars and send fun messages to family and friends. At the end of the day, for Star Wars fans, if you’re not having fun and enjoying Star Wars then you’re doing it wrong.
