Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka Panel - Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022
Recording of the Mandalorian Season 3 and Ahsoka Panel at Star Wars Celebration Anaheim 2022!
Interviews with Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau about the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Pedro Pascal and the Mandalorian stuntmen, Lateef Crowder and Brendan Wayne, talk bringing the character to life. Giancarlo Esposito, Carl Weathers, and Emily Swallow talk about their characters and how much they enjoy playing them.
Temuera Morrison enters the stage doing the haka for everyone in attendance. Tem talks about the Book of Boba Fett and the past in playing clones in previous movies.
Katee Sackhoff talks about her character, Bo Katan and her future in the show. Rick Famuyiwa also talks about his experiences in directing the show and how he will be an Executive Producer for Season 3.
Rosario Dawson comes out and they talk about Ahsoka and the upcoming Disney+ series. Chopper the droid comes out and Rosario messes around with it for minute. Then a new actor playing an established character, Sabine Wren, is revealed! Natasha Liu Bordizzo will be playing the former member of Phoenix Squadron, Sabine Wren, in this live action show. Dave Filoni talks about casting for the live action series and not using the previous voice actors for the live action show.
We get to see a Mandalorian Season 3 trailer which is amazing, as well as a teaser for Ahsoka which revealed the live action Ghost cockpit and Hera (but it was from the back so we couldn’t see a face and who is portraying Hera in this series). It was strongly hinted that they will be searching for Ezra Bridger, which was revealed in the last episode of Star Wars: Rebels that Sabine and Ahsoka would be teaming up to search for Ezra.
I also have an inside tip that Thrawn will be in the series as well, which isn’t a strong leap, but still hasn’t been confirmed yet.
Sorry -the video does not include the trailers for The Mandalorian Season 3 or Ahsoka as the security team was really proactive in sussing out the culprits who were trying to record the forbidden material, at least where I was sitting.
At the end you’ll see the actors and directors huddling up around an really advanced animatronic of Grogu that didn’t get much time in the panel but was clearly something Favreau wanted to showcase but wasn’t able to. I’m thinking it’s something they used in Mandalorian Season 3 that provides more capabilities for Grogu that they couldn’t get with the puppet before. I’m sure there will be a special feature on it at some point on Disney+.
