Ray Fisher Out As Cyborg in The DC Cinematic Universe
Ray Fisher plays Victor Stone, Cyborg, in Justice League and will also be in the upcoming Snyder Cut of Justice League that will be released in March 2021 on HBO Max. Over the past few months, Ray Fisher, has been posting on his socials that during the production of Justice League he experience mistreatment and “blatant racism” from Geoff Johns, Joss Whedon, and Jon Berg. An investigation was launched during which Walter Hamada, President of DC Films, attempted to cover for these three. As a result, Ray has stated that he will no longer work with Warner Bros. or DC Films as long as Hamada is involved.
Well, on January 13, 2021, WB gave notice that Ray Fisher will no longer be involved in the upcoming, in production film The Flash in which he was to co-star with Ezra Miller. Essentially being let go as an actor for WB.
The WB and DC Films executives stuck together and chose to not believe Ray Fisher and his claims of workplace abuse. The Credible Nerds is extremely disappointed in this outcome and decision by WB and DC Films. Ray gains nothing by making these claims (if they were to be false-which we believe they are true) and has everything to gain by remaining in the employ of WB and DC Films.
The Credible Nerds stand with Ray Fisher and his statements. While DC is one of our favorite franchises and Marc and I have enjoyed the recent slate of DC films, we cannot in good conscious support DC in this decision. Where we go from here is yet to be decided, but until Hamada is fired, reassigned, or at the very least - apologizes to Ray, TCN will speak out against WB and DC and call them out in their disrespect and hypocrisy.
